Bed bug infestations were almost unheard of 15-20 years ago. The industry had done a great job at mostly eradicating them throughout the country. Then, around 2005, with the increase in foreign travel, we began to see an increase in bedbugs in larger cities on the east and west coasts. Now they have re-established themselves firmly in our area.
Here’s What We Do
We have been able to discover the best treatment methods, and the best practices for prevention in a relatively short amount of time. Successful treatment does require some work on the part of the customer as well, but we can explain thoroughly everything that needs to be done.
Bed Bug Treatment
All of our bed bug treatment methods work best when the customer does all the prep work necessary. We can help walk through all the things that need to be done before we treat. Once the list is done, we have many different methods for treating based on the situation. We have options for vacuuming, mattress encasement, dusting, steam treatment, trapping, and chemical treatments. We do not currently offer heat treatment.
Follow up
Because of the seclusive and hidden nature of bed bugs, it can take some time to fully eradicate bed bugs. We check monthly for activity levels, and retreat as necessary to get the best control possible.
Prevention
You can prevent bedbugs from entering your home by taking steps in how you go about your daily life. The best way to prevent bedbugs is to not buy anything used from a private party. This scenario has the highest risk for bringing bed bugs into your home. Also, small things like keeping coats, hats, purses, backpacks, etc. from contacting other similar personal belongings in public places.
Warranty
Unfortunately, we are not able to warranty bed bug treatments, because there are so many ways they can re-infest a structure almost immediately after fully successful treatment. Once we determine we have been successful, we do the best we can to educate you on how to prevent them from re-infesting.
