Our Family Business Story
Gerald Hanson, or Jerry as everyone calls him, moved back to Western Wisconsin from the east coast with his wife Edwina and their 4 sons in 1989. He started Prompt Action Pest Control as a means of supplementing the modest income from his bus driving job. Jerry was born and raised near the small Mississippi River town of Maiden Rock. His small-town, farm upbringing, along with his 4 years of service in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam
conflict, helped shape him into a humble, God-fearing, hard-working, quiet, yet persistent family man. Jerry has more than 45 years experience in the pest control industry. His pest control career began in the Air Force. Before he started Prompt Action Pest Control, he worked as a technician, technician trainer, branch manager, and eventually regional manager in one of the largest pest control companies in the country. During that time, he has always been on the hunt for new products and services, in order to better serve his customers. In 2018, Jerry stepped away from the Company in order to become Edwina’s full-time care-giver, as her health declined. His four sons are now the Owners and Operators of Prompt Action Pest Control.
